MAK Center

The MAK Center was created in 1994 and has established itself as a community center for art and architecture. The MAK Center is located at the Schindler House in West Hollywood. This center is a space for the community to gather as well as an establishment that provides events and exhibitions for the community to enjoy. The MAK Center prides itself on not only being a space for art to be showcased, it is also an engaging think tank for the community to think about current events and consider the impact of art and architecture in everyday life. As a result, the MAK Center also features lectures, discussions, symposia, performances, salons and more for the community to enjoy and partake in. On any given day the MAK Center might be hosting a music series, publication projects, tours of architecture throughout the city, and even commissions for new and upcoming local artists. In order to keep the MAK Center flowing with new ideas, the center also frequently invites guest artists, curators and architects to present at the center. The Schindler House was one of the first homes in the Los Angeles area to use the modern architecture style. If you would like to visit the MAK Center at the Schindler House, the space is open to the public every Wednesday through Sunday from 11am-6pm. The Schindler House is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The MAK Center is located 835 N. Kings Road in West Hollywood. Admission to the MAK Center is only $10 for students and $7 for seniors. Children under 12 can get in for FREE. If you want to learn more about art and architecture, the MAK center is the perfect place to visit.
